Business concept and value creation
Beijer Alma's business concept is to acquire, own and develop small and mid-sized companies with favorable growth potential. Beijer Alma's proactive and long-term strategy and development initiatives, combined with investments and supplementary acquisitions, result in competitive companies in selected market segments. In all segments, the Group companies focus on developing strong relationships with customers that offer growth and profitability.
Key criteria for the companies' growth are:
- High customer value through products that are adapted to meet specific customer needs
- International market coverage for the Group's many niche products
- High market share through quality, breadth of product range and customization
- Diversified customer base that reduces dependence on individual markets or industries
Beijer Alma takes a proactive and long-term approach to ownership. The companies are not developed with the ultimate aim of exit. Instead, the strategy is to own and develop successful companies with high growth and favorable profitability by merging effective business models and business control with strong products, high quality, investments in manufacturing capacity and international sales.
The primary objective is to create long-term value for shareholders. The Group companies achieve this by delivering distinct added-value to customers. Delivering added-value for which customers are willing to pay increases profitability, which over time raises the value of the companies and the Group, thus generating higher value for shareholders.
Through investments and acquisitions, Beijer Alma has advanced into a Group focused on component manufacturing and industrial trading. The business is currently geared toward several different industries, including mobile telecoms, the defense industry and the automotive aftermarket. The single largest industry is the automotive aftermarket, which in 2010 accounted for 20 percent of the Group's revenues. Beijer Alma is listed on the NASDAQ OMX Stockholm Mid Cap list (ticker: BEIAb).
